The FANUC Robot S-10 is a six axis, electric servo-driven articulated robot. The S-5 is designed to meet the demand for increased robot performance, user-friendliness and complex application capabilities. The S-5 robot's low cost, durability, large work envelope, quick motion positioning, repeatability and system interface flexibility make it a well suited solution for light payload applications.

Performance:
AC servo motors with high power-to-weight ratios used to produce maximum speed and torque
High speed 32-bit microprocessor and high resolution 1,000,000 pulse/revolution encoders ensure utmost path precision
Absolute position detection system eliminates robot calibration after power-on and enables automatic start-up even in restrictive surroundings
RV speed reducers on the three major axes provide smooth motion at slow speeds, necessary in many applications
Grease fittings provided at all critical locations to facilitate lubrication
Slim body design uses a minimal amount of valuable floor space and permits installation in restrictive surroundings
Standard integral fail-safe brakes on all 6 axes offer additional safety, functionality and control
Robot connection cables feature quick disconnect terminals
Software limits, mechanical overtravels on the major axes and adjustable hard stops can be set to limit S-10's working range for safety

The S-10 is composed of three major mechanical assemblies which can be replaced in minimal time with standard maintenance tools
Dust resistant design permits operation in harsh environment
100,000 hour design life brushless AC servo motors minimize motor maintenance time and costs
Hardened gear set in axis 5 for maximum protection against collisions
Offset wrist features fewer wear components than in-line designs
Minimal backlash and long service life are assured by the use of direct coupling instead of pulleys, chains and belts which can stretch or break
