Ken Carrier
With a background in hydraulic and electronic repair sales, Ken Carrier started his own business in 1989 as a manufacturer’s representative.  One of his largest customers was Cincinnati Milacron’s Robotic division.  Two years later, after Milacron sold the division to ABB, Ken was contacted by Milacron regarding his interest in purchasing excess inventory left by ABB.  Ken made the leap into robotics with the purchase of two semi trailers filled with robots and robot parts.

Under Ken’s watchful eye, KC Robotics Inc. has steadily grown into the professional company it is today.  Ken maintains an active role in all parts of the company.

When not steering the company, Ken can usually be found behind the wheel of a boat.  A look at the décor of his office gives a strong indication of his love for maritime adventures.  Ken enjoys boating with his friends, family, and clients on the Ohio River and Norris Lake in Tennessee.  He can also be found from time to time in the Atlantic Ocean or Gulf of Mexico, deep sea fishing.  One of his goals is to skipper his boat down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers to the Gulf.

Nancy Smith
is the “star” of the show.  Our lifetime “Rocket” seems to light up the room with her smile and up-beat tempo personality every time.

Nancy retired after 20 years from her professional career of dance, theatre and studio teaching. From her dancing career, Nancy brought with her the ability to communicate well and work with various groups of people, as well as determination and care for others.  Despite her own modesty, Nancy is a “Born Salesperson”.

Nancy waltzed her way into KC as a temporary assistant and escalated herself to Office Administrator.  From there she has had the opportunity to wear many hats and once again prove that she has the capability to deliver an outstanding performance.
In addition to all of Nancy’s great assets, she has an incredible amount of accounting, inside sales and customer service experience.
Nancy’s latest endeavor is to increase parts sales as our new Sales Coordinator for Robotic Parts.  Nancy will be contacting customers regarding our expanded “refurbished” parts inventory.  In addition to her new duties, Nancy continues to be involved in office administration, purchasing, and, of course, Customer Service.
Bobby Griffin
caught the “robot-bug” when he was just a child, growing up near Cincinnati Milacron.  After serving four years in the US Air Force, Bobby pursued his dream of working with robots at Cincinnati State College, majoring in Electro-Mechanical Engineering.  Bobby came to KC Robotics in 1994 as a co-op student. After graduating, he accepted a position as robotic technician. As KC Robotics grew, Bobby moved to the front office where he’s worn many hats, including customer service representative, purchasing manager, and network manager.

Bobby still wears many hats, but his most recent position is Robotic Service Coordinator.  Bobby’s technical background and management skills make him the ideal person to follow each robot service order from customer contact, set-up, scheduling to invoicing. Bobby works with our sales staff and robot technicians to coordinate service calls, robot installations and training.  Throughout this course of action, Bobby maintains communication with the customer and prepares the necessary arrangements to complete the customer’s projects.

Always one to wear several hats, Bobby Griffin continues to purchase robots from vendors, arrange overseas transactions, and troubleshoot for all areas of the business.

In addition to his robot and management skills, Bobby is a self-taught computer wiz.  He overseas KC Robotics’ office computer network and software purchases, helps with the web page development, and advises employees with computer technical questions.  On the home front, Bobby continues to serve in the US Airforce Reserve and has served one tour of duty in Kuwait. He and his wife, Tammy, have three boys who keep them hopping from school meetings to football fields and basketball courts.
Chris Patrick
came to KC Robotics in the spring of 2004 as a highly trained and qualified Robotic Technician and Field Service Engineer. With 15 years of robotic experience and positions with Fanuc Robotics as Service Engineer and Robotics Technician, Chris brought with him a wealth of knowledge. At KC Robotics, he is the main attraction when it comes to programming and trouble-shooting. From his time and efforts with KC Robotics, Chris has proudly earned the title of KC Robotics Service Manager. At KC Robotics’ facility, Chris handles technical phone support, coordinates service personal, prepares and inspects robots for individual customer requirements and handles software and programming issues.  Chris trains new technicians and oversees all service calls and programming. In the field, Chris performs troubleshooting and service calls, as well as set up, installation, programming and integration. In addition to his roles as robotic technician and service manager, Chris enjoys teaching training classes upon request of the customer either at KC Robotics or at the customer’s facility.
Walter R. Hamilton
Russ began his robotics career in 1983 at Cincinnati Milacron’s Industrial Robot Division, in Greenville, South Carolina.  Milacron quickly moved Russ from electrical assembly to the machine shop, testing, troubleshooting, loading software, performing run off and I/O tests, and eventually to Assistant Integrator.  Russ’s Robotic experience includes welding, material handling, painting, sealing, powder coating, and head blasting. He has extensive knowledge working with positioners & fixtures for robots.  When Cincinnati Milacron sold their robotic division, Russ moved on to the CMI Machine Tool Division.

Russ came to KC Robotics in 1996 as an independent contractor, located in South Carolina.  His independent status allowed him to work at two careers simultaneously – one as a professional fisherman and the other as a robotic technician and integrator.  Russ’s fishing accolades include top 20 finishes in the FLW & B.A.S.S. tournament trials five times in a row, as well as Angler of the Year twice in the Angler Choice Southern Division.  His career in robotics attained equal distinctions, earning him respect in the business as an integrator and systems designer.

Soon after starting at KC Robotics, Russ became part of a skilled team of robotic technicians responsible for one of KC’s major projects, Sea Ray Boats. The team included Terry Hough, a fellow South Carolinian and Milacron alum.* Sea Ray contracted KC to design a robotic system to trim boat hulls and drill holes into fiberglass.  Due in large part to Russ and Terry’s skills, the project was a vast success and landed on Sea Ray’s Living Magazine Spring 2001 edition.

In 2006, Russ moved north to join KC Robotics full time as Project Manager.  As the head of system integration, Russ engineers, designs, and develops robotics systems.  His hands-on experience with building and installing robotic systems gives Russ practical knowledge of what works in the field.  Russ’s passion for fishing is never more than a thought away.  He enjoys building customer relationships while sharing his knowledge of fishing and relaxing for a day.
  Terry Hough ***
passed away, suddenly, in 2004.  He will always be remembered professionally as a wise, resourceful, and principled businessman and robot technician.  He was a good man and a good friend.
